Day 1

Route : Airport > Negambo

At the airport, you will be greeted by your chauffeur from Sri Lanka Travel Tours, who will take you to the fishing village of Negombo. Drive past the mini-port of Negombo to get to the hotel. Once in the comforts of your hotel, relax and recover from any jet lag.

Day 2

Anuradhapura is the ancient capital of Sri Lanka and possesses the crudest monuments and all of them exhibit the ancient city’s magnificence. It is evident that the city belonged to one of the civilizations of the primal world that were technologically more advanced in all ways. You will see the Dagaba, which are sky high, just like the Egyptian Pyramids. While witnessing the Aukana Buddha statue, the Thuparama temple, and the Isurumuniya rock carvings, you will lose yourself in amazement.

Day: 3

After breakfast we will head to explore Mihintale and other heritage sites. It is named as world first wildlife sanctuary. It was declared as wildlife sanctuary in 247 BC by King Devanampiya Tissa.

Day: 4

Explore the second ancient kingdom in Sri Lanka. Today we will guide you to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and remains one of the best planned archeological relic sites in the country. The Gal Viharaya rock temple, Watadage, the majestic King’s Council Chamber, the Lotus Bath, the Lanka Thilaka Viharaya, and the statue of one of Polonnaruwa’s great kings, Parakramabahu, are a few of Polonnaruwa’s memorable sights. Parakrama Samudraya, or the Sea of Parakrama, is considered one of the greatest ancient man-made irrigation systems in the world. You will mistake this for the ocean because it’s a tank that vast. In the evening, you can visit Parakrama Samudraya.

Then You will be taken to the Sigiriya Hotel.

Day: 5

After breakfast proceed to Sigiriya Lion Rock.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress is considered one of the amazing wonders of the Ancient World that truly needs to be witnessed to be believed. Located in the interior of Sri Lanka, the magnificent rock fortress of Sigiriya is visible for miles in all directions and dominates the surrounding plain. Sigiriya, which was an ancient castle built by King Kasyapa during the 5th century AD, is both a palace and a fortress. The climb up Sigiriya is a challenge and takes about 90 minutes. You will pass by many peculiar parts of the fortress, like The Mirror Wall, the world-famous Sigiriya Frescoes, and the entrance to the Lion Gate. Sufficient ruins remain to provide the visitor with a stunning glimpse into the genuineness and creativeness of its builders. Ancient Sri Lankan architectural tradition is well displayed at Sigiriya, which is the best preserved city center in Asia from the first millennium.

In the evening, proceed to the village of Sigiriya. In there, you can enjoy the traditional way of life of Sri Lankans, engage with their day-to-day activities, and feel the authenticity of Sri Lankans.

Day: 6

After the breakfast you will be proceed to Kandy.

En route, visit Dambulla Cave Temple. Dambulla Golden Cave Temple Complex takes the first place out of all, and it’s still very well preserved. A lot of archeological discoveries were made here, and all the caves were formed in the 3rd century B.C. Usually, the rock climbs 160 feet over the surrounding plains. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain both statues and paintings related to the life of Lord Buddha.

Proceed to Kandy.

Kandy is one of the most ancient cities in Sri Lanka, and this city is known as the cultural capital of Sri Lanka as well as representing the rich cultural heritage of the country. Additionally, the city is beautiful in all aspects and lies in the hills. It’s more suitable for relaxing and reflecting. Kandy gives shelter to the tooth relic of the Lord Buddha in the famous ‘Dalada Maligawa, or ‘Temple of the Tooth.’ Every year, thousands of visitors are attracted to these temples, and these visitors include devotees as well. Day: 7

After breakfast, you can enjoy Kandy.

Then proceed to Peradeniya Botanical Garden, which was considered the Royal Flower Garden in the Kandyan Era.

Then proceed to the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawala, which was founded to care for and protect the many orphaned, unweaned wild elephants found wandering in and near the forests of Sri Lanka. Then proceed to Galle.

Day: 8

Drive southward toward the southern coast of the island to Galle. Galle is the country’s oldest living city and is sure to capture your interest with its historic sites and its unique fusion of European and Arabic cultural and architectural influences. In the afternoon, explore the Galle Fort with its low-lined streets and history behind its rampart. The Fort remains a hive of activity and is one of the few World Heritage-listed sites in which a bustling population continues to thrive. Walk through the alleys lined with stores and restaurants. After you have explored the city, you could proceed to do some shopping in the very heart of Galle. You will come across shops with a fine variety of gems and jewelry, antiques, art galleries, and design stores.

As your choices are free for optional water sport activities, a full day can be spent at the beach sunbathing, swimming, etc.

Day: 9

The commercial capital of the country, with its fascinating blend of past and present, is colorful and vivacious enough to attract visitors in large numbers. Remains of Portuguese, Dutch, and British settlements, interesting sights, and also modern ways of life, technologies, and buildings can be explored throughout the city.

Day: 10

As all good things must come to an end, we bid you farewell as our chauffeur transfers you to the airport to meet your departure flight home.
